At the summit of volunteer and humanitarian initiatives, the humanitarian direction of the ForestCom NGO's activities was presented.

On June 30–July 1, 2022, Oksana Peliukh, Assistant Project Manager of the ForestCom NGO, took part in the summit of volunteer and humanitarian initiatives, which was held in Truskavets, Lviv region. 

Oksana Peliukh presented the humanitarian direction of the ForestCom NGO, which is aimed at helping victims of the war, at the International Ukrainian agenda: Volunteers as Agents Of Influence roundtable. The speaker also shared a practical case of expanding the activities of a public organization in a crisis, experience in implementing the Local Humanitarian Response Initiative humanitarian project (in cooperation with the ANTS National Interest Protection Network NGO) and attracting the support of foreign partners, in particular the University of Sustainable Development in Eberswalde, Germany, and the communities of Penkun, Germany.

"The new challenges faced by CSOs under martial law require conceptually new, integrated approaches to their solutions, which primarily involve strengthening communication and coordination of joint volunteer and humanitarian initiatives. The summit became a platform where everyone could exchange experiences with other organizations, learn and be inspired by new grant opportunities, network, consult, and plan future joint actions. We continue to implement our humanitarian initiatives with updated contacts and knowledge, which means more systematic, strategic, and professional work", noted Oksana Peliukh.

Over two days, the summit brought together more than two hundred representatives of civil society organizations, volunteer initiatives, hubs, and authorities engaged in volunteer and humanitarian activities. Participants had the opportunity to communicate, share their experiences, work for professional development, and establish partnerships.


Among the participants of the summit were: Robert Post, attaché for press, education, and culture of the US Embassy in Ukraine; Oleksandr Yarema, state secretary of the Cabinet of ministers; Maksym Kozytskyi, head of Lviv RMА; Viktor Broniuk, the Tik band, Podilska Hromada Charity Foundation; Victoriia Marchenko, US Agency for International Development; journalists; representatives of organizations namely "Democratic initiatives named after Ilko Kucheriv", "Razom for Ukraine", Department of Corporate Social Responsibility of MHP holding, Institute of Political Education, "Razom for Ukraine", "Razom for Ukraine", Vidrodzhennia International Foundation, etc.


The summit helped to enhance the capacity of civil society volunteers and humanitarian organizations to provide the necessary assistance through increased coordination and interaction among themselves, international partners, state authorities and local self-government bodies.


ISAR Ednannia held the event in partnership with the Lviv regional military administration with the support of the US Agency for International Development within the framework of the Initiative for Sectoral Support of Civil Society In Ukraine project, the US Embassy in Ukraine and the European Union within the framework of the Urgent EU Support For Civil Society project.
